Goodbye to British summertime

One of my driftwood and shell mirrors
Time to get creative now the nights are truly drawing in!  The clocks went back this morning and we are facing the prospect of long winter evenings in front of the fire preceded by long walks in the countryside and by the sea.  Fantastic fun!

Following an action-packed afternoon, last week, with a dozen or so kids making driftwood mirrors I now need to stock up on supplies. They have depleted my vast driftwood and shell supplies, particularly the smaller winkle shells which are just perfect for filling in the little gaps on my frames.  The kids were completely absorbed in their activity and the results were magnificent (I'll post some pictures in due course).  So, I've got a beach combing session scheduled for tomorrow, weather permitting, with my two girls and crazy Cocker Spaniel, Simla.  Can't wait!
